The cast of Neighbours were pictured looking solemn taking furniture off set on Friday as they returned to work for the first time following the news of the show being axed. It was confirmed this week that the Australian soap is ceasing production after 37 years as key supporting network Channel 5 decided to no longer air the series.
“We are so sorry to say that after nearly 37 years and almost 9,000 episodes broadcast we have to confirm that Neighbours will cease production in June,” a statement from Neighbours production read. Longstanding series member Stefan Dennis, who plays Paul Robinson on the soap, was photographed amongst the actors returned to the Neighbours lot carrying a chair in hand as he walked off set. The 63 year old actor was dressed smartly in a white shirt, black tailored trousers and matching loafers as he was spotted taking the piece of furniture away and was seen elsewhere sitting in a car with sunglasses on the same day.

Neighbours has confirmed the sad news that the long-running series will end production in June after losing their key broadcaster and failing to find a replacement. There were hopes that the Australian Soap would find a new home after it was announced that the show was being let go by UK home Channel 5, but the series has now confirmed that the soap will be axed and filming will finish in June.
