Avril Lavigne has released a deluxe edition of her debut album ‘Let Go’ to mark its 20th anniversary, including a new version of ‘Breakaway’.‘Breakaway’ was originally written by Lavigne for the record, but she ended up passing it along to Kelly Clarkson, whose 2004 version became a hit.Lavigne’s newly recorded rendition sees the singer return to her pop-punk roots, capturing the angsty teenage emotion of feeling out of place and wanting something bigger in life.It arrived alongside an accompanying video, with scrapbook-style images, animations and song lyrics scrawled across the screen. Clips from Lavigne’s ‘Let Go’ era also feature, including snippets from the ‘Losing Grip’ music video.

Paolo Nutini has shared another track from upcoming album ‘Last Night In The Bittersweet’ – check out the anthemic ‘Shine A Light’ below.The track follows on from ‘Lose It’ and ‘Through The Echoes’ which were both released last month to announce Nutini’s fourth album, the follow-up to 2014’s ‘Caustic Love’.‘Shine A Light’ is an upbeat slice of arena-ready pop which is perfectly timed, since Nutini will headline TRNSMT and Victorious Festival this summer, and later this month he’ll perform two large outdoor shows in Bristol and Belfast. Death Cab For Cutie have shared the official video for ‘Roman Candles’, the first track to be released from their upcoming tenth studio album, ‘Asphalt Meadows’.“‘Roman Candles’ is about the crippling, existential dread that goes hand in hand with living in a nervous city on a dying planet. And that the only way to be in the moment is to let it all go,” the band said of the album’s first single.Frontman Ben Gibbard added: “The lyrics were cobbled from a couple of different songs dealing with my general sense of anxiety; the feeling that the fabric that weaves a functioning society together was crumbling during the pandemic.”The video has been directed by filmmaker Lance Bangs, who is known for his work with the likes of Sonic Youth, Nirvana and Kanye West.
