Slattery’s releases ‘Madchester’ Easter egg inspired by the Haçienda and Oasis

Walking into any supermarket at this time of year, you won’t have much difficulty finding stacks upon stacks of Easter eggs lining up the aisles. But, if you’re after something that's much more unique and special than what the supermarkets have to offer, you won’t have to look much further than in Bury.
Manchester chocolatiers Slattery’s, based in Whitefield, are selling a ‘Madchester’ egg that takes inspiration from Manchester’s thriving music scene and will only be available to buy from their shop on Bury New Road.
The milk chocolate egg is filled with chocolate buttons and is decorated with edible novelty items paying homage to Manchester music, including a smiley face in Haçienda colours and iconic Manchester nightclub logos, such as 42s, and is also topped with a sugar bucket hat in homage to the Stone Roses.

The £21 egg also features a chocolate Manchester bee, guitar and music notes while customers will also get to pick an iconic edible Manchester album cover, such as Oasis’ What’s The Story, Morning Glory?, to include on the front as well.
Laura Slattery-Vickers, general manager at Slattery's, said the idea for the 6-inch egg came about after more customers started to ask for novelty easter gifts that appeal to adults as well as children.
“Every year we make a range of novelty Easter eggs,” Laura explains to the M.E.N. “In the past we have been asked for ones that appeal to adults more than just children.
