Simon Cowell is sharing his thoughts on the controversy over Harry Styles allegedly spitting on Chris Pine at the Venice Film Festival.
The 62-year-old television personality spoke out while appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Thursday night (September 8) in Hollywood.
Simon was Harry‘s mentor on The X Factor and helped turn One Direction into the successful group they became. During the Kimmel interview, he was asked to respond to the spitting controversy.

“That doesn’t sound like Harry,” Simon said.
Jimmy said the spit could have been unintentional and Simon said, “I was thinking that, yeah. You know when you gob on someone by accident — you go, ‘Oh, I’m really sorry I did that.’”
Simon doubled down and said Harry wouldn’t do something like that.
“He definitely, definitely wouldn’t do that. That’s not Harry. Harry‘s very polite and charming. He wouldn’t do that,” Simon said. “I would tell you! He’s a very, very, very nice guy.”
Chris‘ rep already released a statement to deny the spit happened and Harry joked about it while on stage at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday night.
