Manchester first saw smart motorways appear on the M60 in July 2018, with the technology helping implement variable speed limits for cars travelling on the motorway as well as occasionally opening up the hard shoulder as a live lane.
However, they have come under criticism over safety concerns should drivers break down in a live lane with no hard shoulder available.
And with Prime Minister Liz Truss indicating she may look to scrap smart motorways, we want to know if you think they should still be in use.

A recent inquest into a mum-of-five who died in a crash in 2018 ruled that her car being stationary on a smart motorway section of the M1 without a hard shoulder had played a significant role in the fatal incident.
The inquest heard how the car had driven about 250 yards past an emergency refuge and was stranded undetected in lane one, which was still live, for 16 minutes and 21 seconds.
In January, the government announced that smart motorway rollout would be paused until five years of safety data became available, with safety upgrades to currently live sections to be carried out in the meantime.
They also advised that "available data shows smart motorways are comparatively the safest roads in the country in terms of fatality rates", and said stretches of road without a hard shoulder would be equipped with 'best in class' technology.

“Interview With the Vampire” is even less new. And yet somehow, AMC’s adaptation of the Anne Rice classic feels like something we haven’t seen before. It’s sensitive, disturbing, campy and beautiful, and while it’s violent, there’s a gorgeous creativity to the violence, as seen in Episode 1 when Lestat (Sam Reid) punches right through a man’s head.
Households all across the UK are being urged to submit a meter reading before the month ends as prices go up in October.
Nothing ever dies. It’s true in television as much as it is in vampire fiction, as the last few decades of weaponized nostalgia have seen dozens of properties remade for the small screen.

It was quite a shock in August when Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav scrapped “Batgirl” entirely in what he deemed an attempt “to protect the DC brand.” The move to shelve the movie was the biggest one in Zaslav’s major shake-ups to the future of the DCEU and HBO Max.
