Sevilla president Jose Castro has confirmed that the Spanish club will not be looking to sign Manchester United striker Anthony Martial on a permanent basis this summer.
The Frenchman joined the La Liga outfit on loan in January for the rest of the season, aiming to earn regular first-team minutes after falling out of favour at Old Trafford. However, injuries heavily impacted his hopes of getting his career back on track, restricting him to just 12 appearances.
During that time Martial — who is under contract at United until the summer of 2024 — scored just one goal and grabbed one assist. His goal came in Sevilla's 3-1 Europa League win over Dinamo Zagreb back in February.

Having struggled to make any sort of impact for Julen Lopetegui's side, the Spanish giants have confirmed that they have no plans to re-sign him this summer. No clause offering Sevilla the chance to sign him permanently was inserted in the loan deal.
"Anthony Martial will return to Man United," Castro said. "We spent important money on him but it didn't work.
"Also, he had injuries and we're not going to buy him on a permanent deal."
Having made just 11 appearances in United colours this season prior to leaving on loan, Martial will be bitterly disappointed with how this season mapped out for him as a whole. He scored just two goals in 23 appearances for United and Sevilla in the whole season combined.
He will return to Old Trafford this summer for pre-season training under new manager Erik ten Hag, but it remains to be seen if he can force his way into the Dutchman's plans.
