Police have confirmed that a seven-month-old baby girl has tragically passed away in a horrific two car collision crash. The youngster was travelling in a Peugeot 508 along the H10 grid road in Milton Keynes at around 9.50pm on Sunday, December 4, when the vehicle collided with a green Fiat 500, which was driving in the opposite direction.
The little girl was rushed to hospital after the devastating crash but sadly passed away from her injuries, the Mirror reports. Another passenger in the Peugeot, a 30-year-old woman, suffered minor injuries, while the Fiat driver suffered a broken leg and was taken to Milton Keynes University Hospital to be treated.
Police urged any members of the public with dashcam footage or any witness accounts to come forward as they launched a probe. The force arrested a 27-year-old man from Milton Keynes in connection.
The man was held on suspicion of driving while unfit through drink or drugs, causing death by dangerous driving, causing serious injury by dangerous driving and driving a motor vehicle with a proportion of a specified controlled drug above the limit and failing to stop after a road traffic collision. He has since been released on police bail while the investigation into the crash continues.
Senior Investigating Officer Sergeant Ed Crofts, of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, based at Bicester, said: “Very sadly, as a result of this collision, an infant has died of her injuries. Our thoughts are with the family of the child who has tragically died.
"I would like to appeal to anybody who was driving along H10 Bletcham Way at around the time of the collision to please contact Thames Valley Police, especially if you witnessed what happened or saw either vehicle being driven just
