Manchester City have confirmed the £11million signing of Sergio Gomez from Anderlecht.
The left-back has taken the number 21 shirt - previously donned by David Silva and more recently, Ferran Torres - and will come straight into Pep Guardiola's first-team squad. There were rumours the 21-year-old was set to go straight back out on loan, but the manager confirmed last Friday that he was needed at the Etihad this season.

The former has transformed - despite being a natural right-sided defender - into one of the best left-backs in Europe and the latter is a firmly established Premier League great.
Displacing any of them in the team would be an extremely tough ask for Gomez, but he could improve their levels of performance while getting numerous opportunities to impress himself. It is unlikely the Spanish U21 international will be a starter, but in such a jam-packed season, will see a lot of game-time.
And not just in the domestic cup competitions either, as Gomez will
