The Scottish Government have confirmed 23 people have died from coronavirus in the last 24 hours.
The death toll since March 2020 – of people who first tested positive for the virus within the previous 28 days – is now 10,222.
The latest figures for Scotland showed 8,022 new cases had also been identified overnight.
There are currently 1,392 people in hospital confirmed to have the virus with 34 being treated in intensive care.
So far 4,406,999 people have received their first dose of a Covid-19 vaccination, 4,112,264 given a second dose and 3,263,981 have received a third dose or booster.
It comes as Boris Johnson is to be investigated by Scotland Yard over breaches of covid regulations at Downing Street during lockdown.
Metropolitan Police Commissioner Dame Cressida Dick confirmed her officers are now investigating “a number of events” in Downing Street and Whitehall in relation to potential breaches.
Confirming an investigation, Dick said the Met “would do the right thing and we have always done the right thing.”
She said: “What I can tell you this morning is that as a result of the information provided by the Cabinet Office inquiry team and, secondly, my officers’ own assessment, I can confirm that the Met is now investigating a number of events that took place at Downing Street and Whitehall in the last two years in relation to potential breaches of Covid-19 regulations.”
