A Scots family home has been destroyed by a horror blaze in the early hours of this morning.
Emergency services raced to Frederick Crescent, Dunfermline, after 3am today as fire fighters battled the inferno for three hours.
Photographs of the scene now show the extent of the damage after a mum, aged 31, and her three children were rushed to Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy with non-life threatening injuries.
The property is currently cordoned off with yellow tape as police officers remain at the scene.
Black char marks caused by the flames can be seen covering the home as three windows and the door appear to have caved in.
A white vehicle remains parked in the drive as debris clutters the front garden.
Fire fighters battled the flames which gutted the inside of the home for around three hours before leaving the scene.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 3.23am on Wednesday 6 April to reports of a fire affecting a building in Frederick Crescent, Dunfermline.
“Operations control immediately mobilised four fire engines and firefighters wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the fire.
"Four casualties were handed over to the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service and taken to hospital.
“Crews left the scene after ensuring the area was made safe.”
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called around 3.30am on Wednesday, 6 April, to a report of a fire at a property in Frederick Crescent, Dunfermline.
“A 31-year-old woman and several children were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
The Scottish Ambulance Service has been contacted for comment.
