A Scots student who suffered from headaches has died just months after being told that his brain tumour was inoperable.
Jordan Kearney, from Peterhead, was diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer when a large, 4cm mass was discovered after an appointment at an opticians in June. The 22-year-old was taken into Aberdeen Royal Infirmary where an emergency biopsy was performed and three weeks later he was diagnosed with glioblastoma multiforme (GBM grade 4).
The tumour was inoperable due to its location and the Record previously told how the young man was undergoing chemo-radiotherapy as his family searched for alternative treatments. However, on Thursday Jordan passed away leaving his family and friends completely devastated.
His aunt Lisa Ann Kearney lead the tributes as she hailed her nephew in a heartfelt message on social media. Lisa said: “Jordan Kearney was tired and you called him home to heaven on Thursday. You could never of meet a kinder person who never had a bad word to say about anyone.
“He was caring and full of life. A complete pleasure to be around, so very well respected - a young gentleman.
“Jordan son, please wrap your strong arms around your mum and dad, brother and sister. Keep them strong. I am proud to be your auntie. This is not goodbye son, I will see you on the other side. Give mum and dad the biggest hugs, we love you. Forever young.”
Jordan, who was head boy at Peterhead Academy had to defer the last term of his final year at university studying international business management, because of the debilitating headaches he was suffering.
He managed a McDonald's branch in Peterhead and following the heartbreaking news, Jordan's former teachers took to Facebook to pay tribute.
