It's that time of year again as Scots children to go out guising for Halloween.
The name describes the ancient tradition of children disguising themselves and dressing up in costumes to ward off evil spirits.
They'd dress up in old clothes, with faces blackened from soot, and have to go to people's doors and perform a trick or a song before they were given treats. It is believed Halloween has been celebrated in Scotland for over 400 years and marked the end of summer and start of winter.
From its humble roots as a pagan festival with bonfires lit all across the land to ward off evil spirits, Halloween has evolved into a huge part of modern culture in Scotland. Today the atmosphere is more relaxed and children are rewarded just for dressing up in costumes.
