Scots Gogglebox couple Roisin Kelly and boyfriend Joe Kyle caused a divide on Twitter during Friday's instalment of the Channel 4 show as they watched King Charles Coronation. Many of the other Goggleboxers were delighted that one of the clips they had to review this week was the celebrations that took place last weekend.
A few of them waved Union Jack flags as they sat down to watch the clips and Stephen and Daniel even wore special slippers for the occasion but Scots couple were less than impressed.
As they sat down to watch the clips, Joe turned to Roisin and said: "Do you want to hear my pledge? You can stick your Coronation up your a***, you can stick your Coronation up your a***."
Many fans were outraged and flocked to Twitter to complain. One wrote: "I loved every minute of it. Shame on the Glaswegian couple. Let us Glaswegians down with that vile remark."
Another said: "Complaint put in about the Scottish couple." Another wrote: "Watching Gogglebox and nearly broke the TV when Roisin and Joe came on!! Get them off!!"
However, some fans seemed to agree with Joe's take on the Coronation. One wrote: "Cackling at the Scottish couple watching the coronation on Gogglebox #Gogglebox."
Another added: "Joe, the only one with common sense." While one said: "Loving the Scottish couples reaction to the Coronation."
The chant was belted out by Celtic fans over the last two weekends, in protest against King Charles' crowning. Their singing sparked a hilarious reaction from Jeremy Vine and even reached Australia, with TV hosts branding the support "untameable".
Whilst Coronation celebrations took place all over the country last weekend to celebrate the King and Queen, not everyone in Scotland was jumping for joy about it.
