A Scots woman was left stranded in Turkey after EasyJet cancelled her flight home hours before boarding.
Caroline Daniels, from Newmilns in Ayrshire, was heading to the airport when she received a text message from the airline to say her flight from Bodrum to Edinburgh on Wednesday night was cancelled.
The 53-year-old, who was on a solo holiday, was left to find her own way home after the airline told her the next flight to Scotland on Saturday was full and they couldn't get her on another plane.
NHS worker Caroline told the Record: "I had to call customer services and they said the next flight on Saturday was full and they were unable to get me on another flight.
"They were no help. The person I spoke to told me if I had to pay for another flight to make sure it was economy!"
Desperate to get home Caroline had to fork out another £250 for a flight home with Jet2 on Friday night.
She also had to splash out on two extra nights at her hotel, additional parking charges and racked up a £150 phone while while trying to sort out a new flight home.
She continued: "I managed to get one of the last seats on a flight home with Jet2 on Friday night.
"Thankfully my hotel room was still available, although I've had to pay for that too.
"This was the first time I've travelled alone and it was quite scary not being able to get home.
"Easyjet don't seem to care about leaving passengers stranded."

The airline told Caroline to submit a compensation claim for extra costs and it would be assessed.

"Thankfully I had the money there to pay for
