A Scots contestant has become the latest cake enthusiast to be booted off The Great British Bake Off.
Kevin Flynn, from Hamilton, South Lanarkshire, has become the seventh competitor to leave the much-loved Channel 4 show, as custard week saw floating islands, ice cream cones and gateau showstoppers.
The 33-year-old musician was eliminated after failing to impress judges Paul Hollywood and Dame Prue Leith in the famous white tent on Tuesday evening as the competition continued.
In a touching letter penned to Bake Off Fans, which included a nod to his home country, Kevin wrote: "Man alive, what an experience! One of the hardest things I've ever done, but oh, I'd do it all over again tomorrow.
"Thank you to whoever had the ridiculous notion to let me loose in the tent! I hope I've brought a little joy to the show and those who cheered me on at home.
"In our part of Scotland, we take life seriously, but don't take ourselves too seriously, and so I still continue!"
As custard week kicked off, the contestants were given tasks including the all-important technical challenge where they had to make pistachio ice cream and wafer cones.
