Scots are set to bake in warmer weather this weekend - with temperatures set to peak at 18C.
But anyone hoping to sunbathe will be disappointed to learn that this heat is will be paired with cloudy skies and some light showers across the country.
Most major cities will see light rain fall from Friday with conditions gradually improving by Sunday.
Edinburgh and Perth are set to be the warmest by Sunday, with a scorching high of 18C, according to the Met Office.
However, It is Inverness which is set to be the sunniest spot, as it is set to shine throughout the weekend - with temperatures dropping slightly to 13C on Saturday.
According to the Met Office, the warmer temperatures are due to a build up of high pressure.
Meteorologist Aidan McGivern said: "Warmer weather is on the way for many of us as high pressure builds from the southwest.
"Having said it's turning warmer, actually a cold front will push south this Saturday and that will allow for some cooler conditions in the north, especially so, perhaps a chill in the air first thing for parts of Northern Ireland, Northern England and Scotland, but for most, it's a fine start to the weekend."
He continued: "By Sunday, for the vast majority, plenty of sunny spells first thing, but the cloud will thicken in northern and western of Scotland, parts of Northern Ireland as well - a few outbreaks of rain, mostly over northwest Scotland where it will be breezier compared to Saturday."
Here is the weather forecast for every Scots city for Friday, May 6 through Sunday, May 8, according to the Met Office.
Friday - Heavy rain changing to sunny intervals in the afternoon; high of 16C
