Sarah Ferguson is ready to dish on the royals following the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.
The Duchess of York went on Good Morning America while promoting her new book A Most Intriguing Lady and expressed to host Juju Chang how she feels more “liberated” now that she doesn’t have to worry over the Queen’s opinion:
Adding on, she said she’s “truly authentic” now:

As you know, the ex-wife of Prince Andrew and good friend of Princess Diana had a very close relationship with Queen Elizabeth. It’s no surprise she bit her tongue on certain subjects to maintain peace with her while she still ruled. The last thing anyone wants is to upset their former mother-in-law!

Fergie went on to say she wrote her new novel partly based on her own experiences. She even compared herself to the main character, Lady Mary:
Although the 63-year-old is having a blast opening up about her former family members, she still loves and refers to the Queen as her “idol”:
