EXCLUSIVE: In what is turning into one of the more hotter projects in town, Skydance’s The Gorge starring Miles Teller, looks to have found its distributor and Teller’s co-star. Sources tell Deadline, Apple Original Films have come on to the pic with SAG Award-winner Anya Taylor-Joy set to star alongside Miles Teller in the genre-bending love story. Scott Derrickson is on board to direct with Zach Dean penning the script, which he sold on spec to Skydance last year. In addition to starring, Teller will serve as executive producer on the film.

EXCLUSIVE: Steve Toussaint, best known for his role as Lord Corlys Velaryon on HBO’s House of the Dragon, has signed with Paradigm.

Not counting “Small Axe,” his excellent anthology series, Steve McQueen hasn’t made a feature film since 2018’s “Widows.” Thankfully, that’s about to change. Deadline reports that McQueen’s next film is “Blitz,” a film about the Blitz of London in World War II, with Saoirse Ronan leading the ensemble cast.

Apple beat the competition for rights to the film in June. The shoot is expected to begin later this year.McQueen’s Lammas Park produces alongside Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner of Working Title Films, and Arnon Milchan, Yariv Milchan, and Michael Schaefer from New Regency, with independent producer, Anita Overland.  “Blitz” was developed and packaged by New Regency under McQueen’s first look deal with the company; they previously collaborated on “12 Years a Slave” and 2018’s “Widows.”“Lady Bird,” “Little Women” and “Brooklyn” actress Ronan most recently starred in “See How They Run” opposite Sam Rockwell.

Nick Vivarelli International Correspondent The 17th annual Rome Film Festival will fete James Ivory with a career honor, a mini retrospective and the Italian launch of the Oscar-winning filmmaker’s personal new documentary “A Cooler Climate.” Ivory is expected in Rome to receive the award and present the doc about his life as a traveler that takes its cue from boxes of film the director shot during a life-changing trip to Afghanistan in 1960. The film premieres beforehand at the New York Film Festival. Rome’s Ivory mini-retrospective will comprise his films “Maurice”; “Mr. and Mrs. Bridge,” starring Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward; “The Remains of the Day”; and “A Room With a View.”

Evan Peters is the latest actor to take on the role of notorious serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer and, as expected, his performance looks quite chilling.Netflix released the first trailer on Friday for Ryan Murphy’s latest series, “Dahmer — Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story.” In it, Peters’ version of Dahmer is determined to make sure his neighbors don’t find out about his nefarious activities.The video opens with Dahmer bringing a man back to his apartment, who immediately complains about the smell emanating from the room. Behind him, Dahmer locks the door and closes in on the man and, while his murder isn’t shown, it’s heavily implied.Much of the rest of the trailer is consumed by Dahmer’s neighbor, played by Niecy Nash, trying to get to the bottom of what’s been going on next door.
