Saoirse Ronan and Sam Rockwell Solve a West End Murder in ‘See How They Run’ First Trailer

HBO have shared the first teaser trailer for The Idol – the forthcoming drama series created by “the sick and twisted minds of” The Weekend (aka Abel Tesfaye) and Euphoria helmer Sam Levinson.Tesfaye will star in the series as a self-help guru, club owner and leader of a modern-day cult, who begins dating an up-and-coming pop artist played by Lily-Rose Depp. Little else is known about the story driving The Idol, but according to its trailer, the series will chronicle “the sleaziest love story in all of Hollywood”.Across just over a minute of footage, viewers are presented with an onslaught of sex, drugs, violence, corruption, choreographed dancing and the declaration that “there’s nothing about [Depp’s as-yet-unnamed character] that’s relatable”.

Remarriage & Desires, starring Kim Hee-sun.The forthcoming series will be set against the backdrop of Rex, a famed matchmaking agency that specialises in remarriages of ambitious clients who strive to settle down with rich partners.The new trailer highlights the sheer opulence that Rex demands of its clientele, from masked balls to yacht parties. The already-fierce competition at the matchmaking agency is elevated even further when CEO Lee Hyung-ju (Search’s Lee Hyun-wook), who is worth about two trillion Korean won in assets, enters the fray.Remarriage & Desires premieres on Netflix on July 15.Kim Hee-sun (Tomorrow) stars in the new series as Seo Hye-seung, once an ordinary mother and wife who ends up losing everything following the sudden passing of her husband.

“Knives Out 2” isn’t the only murder mystery hitting theaters later this year, as Searchlight Pictures has released the first trailer for “See How They Run” that finds Oscar winner Sam Rockwell and Oscar nominee Saoirse Ronan investigating a suspicious murder in 1950s London.Written by Mark Chappell (“Flaked”) and directed by Tom George (“This Country”), “See How Thy Run” takes place in the West End where plans for a movie version of a smash-hit play come to an abrupt halt after the film’s Hollywood director (played by Adrien Brody) is murdered. A weary inspector (Rockwell) and an eager rookie constable (Ronan) take on the case, and quickly find themselves thrown into a puzzling whodunit within the glamorously sordid theater underground.“Knives Out” surely didn’t invent the comedic whodunit and “See How They Run” owes as much to Agatha Christie as anything, albeit with a wry, Wes Anderson-like flair.Check out the trailer in the video above.

Move over, Sherlock Holmes. London has two new inquiring minds on the case of a murdered actor in the ensemble murder-mystery-comedy “See How They Run”.

In addition to showcasing Daniel Craig’s dialectical range, Rian Johnson’s “Knives Out” proved that the lone detective whodunit is still alive and kicking.
