Harry and Sandra Redknapp's marriage is a love story that has captivated the nation's hearts. And in their new autobiography, When Harry Met Sandra, the former footballer and his infamous beloved wife Sandra tell all on their 54 year marriage and their journey as parents. One notable moment in the book, during the chapter A wedding in Bermuda, Sandra opened up on her son Jamie's marriage to former daughter-in-law Louise Redknapp.
While speaking of fond memories of their wedding day, she also addresses their 2018 divorce at the end of the extract. Sandra said: "Sadly, they divorced in 2018 but sometimes that’s just what happens. All you can wish for is that your children are happy and we will be forever grateful to them both for our beautiful grandsons." Sandra revealed Jamie and Louise, who are parents to sons Charley, 18, and Beau, 13, met back in the 90s after being introduced through mutual friend Robbie Williams.
And in 1998 the pair were hitched in a stunning Bermuda ceremony. "Three days after Jamie popped the question, he married Louise in a beautiful ceremony on board an 80-foot white yacht called Lady Erica on June 29 – the day before mine and Harry’s 31st wedding anniversary," Sandra recalled. "Louise looked absolutely stunning in a white chiffon dress and I remember how relaxed she looked when she arrived with her mum, Lynne, on a horse-drawn carriage.
"There were only about 30 of us at the wedding. Mark was his best man, and Jamie’s Liverpool team-mate Phil Babb had but I know Harry was sad that his own parents couldn’t make the Marriott Castle Harbour Hotel, which overlooked the harbour. It really was a beautiful evening." The 74 year old further shared that Jamie and Louise were never "a showbizzy couple"
