Sam Thompson called Love Island contestant Gemma Owen a “bit of a d***” as he gave his thoughts on her comments on Luca Bish’s surname during the first episode of the new series on Monday. Gemma, 19, appeared to offend Luca, 23, when she told him he had an “unfortunate” surname and giggled about it after the pair revealed their names to each other. On Monday 5 June's show, Gemma said: “I feel like that’s a bit of an unfortunate last name… Bish?”, to which the fellow contestants looked at her in shock.
Gemma went on to think more about Luca’s name, before she declared: “Nah. Not feeling it.” Sam, 29, was unimpressed by Gemma's reaction and took to Instagram Stories to offload as he uploaded a video showing Gemma in the clip on the TV in front of him.
