Sam Heughan has shared a very exciting filming update for the seventh season of Outlander.
The Scots actor has played Jamie Fraser in the hit show since 2014, alongside Caitriona Balfe who plays his on screen wife Claire Fraser.
Taking to Twitter to share an exciting filming update, Sam said this week: "End of another block of shooting! Halfway through the season. Some really special moments and epic scenes. Season 7 will be with the wait…! @Outlander_STARZ "
Fans were delighted at the news and took to the replies to share their excitement. "Thanks for the update: it’s comforting to know there’ll be special and epic scenes: you can’t do anything different! #Droughlander is quite hard to manage and with your message the pain fades," said one.

Despite Droughtlander being in full swing at the moment, fans can rest easy knowing the next instalment of the historical fantasy series will consist of 16 episodes.
“We are excited to get into the editing room to work on bringing the fans one step closer to reuniting with the family back on Fraser’s Ridge,” said showrunner Matthew B. Roberts. “Filming in 2021 has presented an unprecedented set of challenges which led us to the decision to truncate the season in order to bring the fans the most vibrant and dynamic season as soon as possible.
