A$AP Rocky (real name Rakim Mayers) has pleaded not guilty to two charges of assault with a semi-automatic firearm.He is accused of shooting A$AP Mob member A$AP Relli – real name Terell Ephron – during an altercation in 2021.Mayers was charged earlier this week after after Relli claimed he was shot by the rapper last November.Today (August 17), he was barred from possessing any firearms or ammunition and prohibited from contacting or coming within 100 yards of Ephron, reports Rolling Stone.Mayers’ lawyer Sara L. Caplan asked Judge Victoria Wilson if the rapper was permitted to travel for work before the judge ruled that he should “clear dates” with the prosecutors.A$AP Rocky is currently scheduled to headline Rolling Loud New York at Citi Field in Queens on September 24.Mayers spoke only to agree that his next court date would be set for November 2.The alleged shooting initially went unreported, however back in April, Mayers was arrested over the incident after being detained at Los Angeles International Airport.

A day after Salman Rushdie was stabbed Friday by a man who rushed the stage as the author was about to give a lecture in western New York, authorities announced the suspect was arrested on an attempted murder charge.
Rushdie, 75, was flown to a hospital and underwent surgery after the attack. His agent, Andrew Wylie, said Friday night the author is currently on a ventilator and cannot speak. He said Rushdie will likely lose an eye, adding that the nerves in his arm were “severed” and his liver was “stabbed and damaged.”
Police identified the attacker as Hadi Matar, 24, of Fairview, New Jersey. Matar was arrested for attempted murder in the second degree and assault in the second degree, New York State Police said in a statement Saturday. The suspect was transported to Chautauqua County Jail and will be arraigned on Saturday, they said.
He was arrested at the Chautauqua Institution, a nonprofit education and retreat center where Rushdie was scheduled to speak.

Matar has since pleaded not guilty. On Saturday, at a New York court, the alleged attacker’s attorney entered a not-guilty plea on his client’s behalf for his attempted murder and assault charges, NBC News reported. Police stated that Matar was remanded without bail at the Chautauqua County Jail. His next court appearance is scheduled for Aug. 19.
Matar was born in the United States to Lebanese parents who emigrated from Yaroun, a border village in southern Lebanon, Mayor Ali Tehfe told The Associated Press.
His birth was a decade after the publishing of The Satanic Verses — Rushdie’s 1988 novel that drew death threats from Iran’s leader decades ago.
