Rylan has opened up on the moment he realised he's "not invincible".The 33 year old announced his split from Dan Neal in 2021, which led him to take four months off from BBC Radio after "loosing himself". During his time away from the spotlight, Rylan shared he "went away for a bit" to hospital as he "was very... gone." Now, during a conversation with pal Davina McCall on his podcast Ry-Union, the Strictly It Takes Two presenter has opened up on being "ill" following his separation from Dan.
"I was ill. I was really in a bad way for that four months. It's really strange, because lately I've been thinking about it.
It was summer as well," he started before explaining that while people were enjoying the hot weather, he had no phone or social media. Get exclusive celebrity stories and fabulous photoshoots straight to your inbox with OK!'s daily newsletter. You can sign up at the top of the page.
He said: "I wasn't looking at my phone for any other purposes than one thing. I wasn't looking at the news, I had no social media, I'd handed that all over to management. I saw nothing.
"In one respect, that was the best thing for me. In the same respect, I look back now and I do regret how I got, but I couldn't help how I got." Rylan, who is taking "slow steps" back into dating following his split, went on: "I wished I'd just gone to work. I wish I had the ability to go to work and try and distract myself from what was going on in my life, but I actually couldn't.
