Ryan Reynolds is adding another accolade to the list.
The actor is being awarded the American Cinematheque Award by the member-supported cultural arts organization. He will be honoured along with Power of Cinema Award recipient Jason Blum and Blumhouse.

According to the organization, the American Cinematheque Award is “presented annually to an extraordinary artist currently making a significant contribution to the art of the Moving Picture.” Past nominees include Scarlet Johansson, Spike Lee, Charlize Theron, and others.
Reynolds is a Golden Globe and Grammy-nominated artist for his work on the “Deadpool” film franchise, along with founding his own production studio Maximum Effort Productions which is behind numerous viral marketing campaigns for his brands Aviation Gin, Mint Mobile, Wrexham along with others.

The American Cinematheque describes itself as “dedicated to building an engaged film community through immersive film curation, conversation, and presentation. The American Cinematheque celebrates the film-going experience at the core of its mission.”
The annual American Cinematheque Awards takes place on Nov. 17 at the Beverly Hilton in California.

So what makes the next iteration of this story unique from the rest? The answer is comedians Will Ferrell and Ryan Reynolds, who are co-starring in the musical “Spirited” — the latest adaptation of the canonical piece of literature. Reynolds will be playing Clint Briggs, a younger, funnier version of the old, crotchety Ebenezer Scrooge, while Ferrell will be portraying the ghost of Christmas Present. However, Clint turns the tables and reexamines the ghost’s past, present and future. For the first time, “A Christmas Carol” is told from the perspective of the ghosts in this hilarious musical twist on the classic Dickens tale.

Not that Miller would likely return in the upcoming third “Deadpool” movie. The actor was accused of sexual assault in 2017 and arrested in 2018 for allegedly making a fake bomb threat on an Amtrak train. Prosecutors eventually dismissed the case. Miller was also accused in 2018 of bullying his “Silicon Valley” co-star Alice Wetterlund on set, which he denied.
