Ryan Giggs trial hears ex-partner's bruises were from 'rough sex' and not hotel attack as 'paddle and handcuff' messages read out

Ryan Giggs' lawyer claimed that his ex-partner suffered bruising during 'rough sex' rather than being attacked following a row in a hotel.
Kate Greville spent a second day giving evidence at Manchester Crown Court as the trial of the former Manchester United and Wales footballer continues.
He is accused of behaving in a controlling or coercive manner towards her during a more than three year period during their relationship, as well as assaulting her and her sister during an incident in November 2020. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges. Mr Giggs, 48, denies ever using unlawful violence against his former girlfriend at any time during the relationship.

Ms Greville also denied telling lies to police, and said she did not plan to seek compensation from Mr Giggs.
Prosecutors allege that Ms Greville suffered bruising to her arm after the couple had a row in a hotel in Dubai. She claims that Mr Giggs 'flipped' after Ms Greville accused him of messaging another woman, when he said he'd actually been speaking to his daughter.
Ms Greville claimed he 'dragged' her out of the hotel room while she was naked and locked her out on the corridor. The witness said her business partner Elsa Roodt noticed the bruising, and admitted that she had told her it was caused during sex.
Mr Daw asked: “You said it was a result of ‘rough sex’, you said nothing about an assault.” Ms Greville said she had done so because she was 'embarrassed' and 'didn’t want to admit it.”
Jurors heard the witness later sent a message to Mr Giggs saying "My sex bruise is coming out nice too." The court also heard another exchange of messages between the couple regarding 'rough
