Royal Mint releases rainbow-coloured coin to mark 50 years of Pride UK

Members of the Royal Family are out in full force on Saturday as they continue to attend Platinum Jubilee events across the country ahead of tonight's Party at the Palace. From appearing together on Buckingham Palace' balcony for Trooping the Colour, to heading to St Paul's Cathedral for a Service of Thanksgiving, the family have now spread their wings to widen the Queen's celebrations across the UK. Anne, the Princess Royal, has arrived in Epsom for the Derby Day with her family after a quick trip to Edinburgh Zoo in Scotland.

Royal baker Mark Bennett has unveiled the finished product for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee cake in a series of posts on Instagram. He revealed the lavish five tier creation just days before the long weekend of celebrations got underway, which has seen the likes of Harry and Meghan reunite with the Royal Family. Mark was 'honoured' by the opportunity to design, make and decorate the cake, which he said could not have been achieved "without the unwavering support of [his] loving wife, Emma." The cake is iced in white and topped with an edible crown, a design which is reflected in the five tiers to emulate a crown-like shape across the whole cake.

On Thursday, high ranking members of the Royal Family joined the Queen on her Buckingham Palace balcony as they watched over the Trooping the Colour ceremony, as well as the Red Arrows display. It's possibly the most famous balcony in the world with royals having gathered on the balcony since 1851 to celebrate weddings, birthdays and to commemorate important wartime events. It was Queen Victoria who first started the tradition during the celebrations of the Great Exhibition over 170 years ago.
