Former Manchester United captain Roy Keane has agreed to make a surprise appearance in the legends match with Liverpool this afternoon.
Keane was not expected to be part of the team that travels to Anfield for the 'Legends of the North' clash, however he joined up with the squad at the hotel before travelling to Merseyside. United's veterans are looking to overturn a 3-1 first leg deficit in Liverpool and have drafted in other legendary debutants to help.
Most notably Michael Carrick and Darren Fletcher will feature for United in midfield for the first time. Meanwhile, other familiar faces will be returning for the match including Dimitar Berbatov and Antonio Valencia.

Bryan Robson managed United in the first leg but he has been replaced by Andy Ritchie, who will be joined by Andy Cole in the dugout. As for Liverpool, Kenny Dalglish will be managing them with Ian Rush and John Aldridge as his assistants.
Xabi Alonso will make his debut for their legends team alongside Glen Johnson and Robbie Keane. Proceeds from the match will go to the Manchester United Foundation who work to improve the lives of young people in Manchester and the north west.
Back in May, the first leg at Old Trafford raised more than £1.3m for the charity.
