It is more than 90 days since the club first registered an interest in his signature and they are refusing to give up, even though the prospect of a deal being finalised is starting to look less and less likely.
While United have stumbled this summer, those around them have wasted little time in strengthening their respective squads, and impressively so. Arsenal have raided Manchester City to snap up Oleksandr Zinchenko and Gabriel Jesus, Chelsea have brought in Kalidou Koulibaly and Raheem Sterling, and Tottenham Hotspur have spent lavish amounts of money on signing in Yves Bissouma and Richarlison.
