Roy Keane believes Manchester United would be in a better position than they're in now if they had refrained from sacking Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Keane made the admission following United's 1-1 draw with Chelsea at Old Trafford on Thursday evening. Cristiano Ronaldo found the back of the net just two minutes after the Blues had opened the scoring through Marcos Alonso to seal an unlikely point.
The draw has left United sixth in the Premier League table with three games left to play, five points shy of the top four. Although their Champions League hopes are not mathematically over, the fact that Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have games in hand means that United would need a miracle to qualify for Europe's premier club competition for next season.

Following the decision to sack Solskjaer back in November, United hoped that the interim appointment of Ralf Rangnick would give everyone connected with the club the boost they needed, not least the players. However, they have failed to respond to the German's demands, meaning the 2021-22 season will go down as one of the most forgettable in the club's recent history.
Although cracks were already wide open at the end of Solskjaer's tenure, Keane believes United would not have done any worse than they are doing currently had the Norwegian kept his job.
"They wouldn't have done any worse if Ole was here, but obviously the decision was made and you cannot keep looking back," Keane told Sky Sports. "You could go as far back as David Moyes and I will always say that managers should be given more time than what they get. But with the reality of top football clubs there is no patience."
