A new rooftop cinema is set to screen a host of Christmas classic movies from Elf to Muppet’s Christmas Carol in the run up to the festive period. The season of movies will kick off on November 16 at Backyard Cinema, the immersive cinema experience that is setting up shop on the roof of Depot Mayfield, its first residency outside London.
Among them will be yuletide faves like Elf, Home Alone, Love Actually, The Holiday, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, The Nightmare Before Christmas, The Muppet Christmas Carol and Miracle on 34th Street. And to make the whole experience more immersive, guests will enter through magic doors and tunnels of trees constructed within ‘movie-grade’ sets.
Inside the screening room, movie-goers will be able to cosy up on bean bags, with ushers serving up ‘cocktails and sweet treats’.
