Ronan Keating has spoken out about becoming a grandad for the first time, after his son Jack welcomed a baby daughter in March. Jack, 24, who starred on Love Island in 2022, announced the surprise arrival of his first child on 9 March, and shared a sweet black-and-white snap of him holding his newborn daughter on Instagram.
Now Boyzone star Ronan, 47, who shares son Jack and daughters Missy and Ali with ex-wife Yvonne Connolly, has broken his silence over his new granddaughter and even shared what he wants her to call him when she can talk, as he appeared on The One Show on Monday night. The singer spoke about Jack's baby daughter as he sat down with co-host Jermaine Jenas on the BBC One show, who turned to him and joked: "Well said, grandad." Ronan then proudly replied: "Yes I am, my son had a gorgeous baby." Jermaine then explained that Ronan will not actually be called grandad, prompting the Boyzone star to reveal what he wants to be called by his granddaughter.
"Uh, pops, we'll go with that, perfect," the 47 year old said. Ronan's comments come after Jack revealed he is already "besotted" with his newborn daughter and is not in a relationship with her mother, thought to be artist Keely Iqbal.
The new dad gushed over his little girl, telling The Sun: "I am delighted to announce the birth of my little girl. "Her mother and I have decided to keep her identity private for now and we ask everyone to please respect our privacy at this time." The new dad also added: "My daughter's mother and I are not together, however we look forward to co-parenting and giving our little girl the best support system that she needs." Jack shared his excitement to be embarking on a new "chapter" in his life, and one for his family too, as
