Roisin Murphy and Self Esteem to headline Homobloc 2022

Roisin Murphy and Self Esteem are among the headliners set to play this year’s Homobloc one-day festival. Joining them will be The Blessed Madonna, Honey Dijon, HAAi, Saoirse and Horse Meat Disco.
It will be Murphy’s second visit to Homobloc, which is now in its third incarnation. She was among the headliners of the first event in 2019, which saw a sold-out crowd taking in the likes of Robyn, Jayda G and Larry Heard, aka house legend Mr Fingers.
Honey Dijon and The Blessed Madonna also played that first event too, devised by promoter Luke Unabomber and the crew behind the long-running Homoelectric club night. This year’s will take place on November 5, once again at Mayfield Depot.
Also on the bill will be Homoelectric residents and regulars including Gina Breeze, Jamie Bull, Lukas, Joshua James and Grace Sands, alongside the likes of Jennifer Cardini, Krystal Klear, Moxie, Shanti Celeste, Kath McDermott, DJ Paulette, Mix-Stress, Queer Latifah and Supernature Disco.
Carl Austin-Behan, former Lord Mayor of Manchester, and LGBTQ+ Advisor to the Mayor of Greater Manchester Andy Burnham, said: “Homobloc is such an important date for many people as it brings the community together all under one roof - from dancing and performing, to fundraising. It is amazing to see the team get behind these charity partners and continue to support their vital works for the LGBTQ+ community in Greater Manchester and beyond.”
