Rob Beckett has now insisted that he is not behind the Traffic Cone costume on The Masked Singer UK after a long-running, cheeky prank. The 36 year old left viewers confused as he appeared to reveal himself as the mystery voice behind the popular character. He also later added that ITV were "p***ed off" at him for giving away his identity and, as a result, would not be paying him for his time on the show. However, on Saturday evening, Celebs Go Dating star Rob was forced to admit that he had been joking as the star behind the actual Traffic Cone costume had "angrily" messaged him and asked him to stop.
Rob tweeted: "Right so I have a confession. I'm not Traffic Cone. It's a wind up.
"However it's got so out of hand the actual Traffic Cone has angrily messaged me telling me to stop saying I'm traffic cone. "So for the record, I'm not Traffic Cone. But I now know who is.
#MaskedSingerUK," Rob added with a series of crying with laughter emojis. The confession came hours after Rob jokingly tweeted that ITV were livid at him for "accidentally revealing" himself as Traffic Cone. "Look itv are p***ed off with me.The tweet was an accident," he began. "I've been quiet the last few days. They still won't pay me so I don't care anymore.
I'm traffic cone. Don't give a s*** if it's a spoiler." Kicking off the speculation, Rob tweeted days earlier: "Just send this out once I've been unmasked." He continued: "Thanks for all the support being the Traffic Cone I absolutely loved it. Great show. The kids couldn't believe it was me." While Rob has confessed that he isn't behind Traffic Cone, his fans aren't convinced.
