He said on BT Sport: "The age that he's at, he's no spring chicken, he's not a young, upcoming striker like a [Erling] Haaland. Even if he did come over and it didn't really work for him, not at the actual prime time of his career.
"What I would say, you've got to judge him on what he's done, the body of work. Over the last seven years, he's got 40+ goals in every single one of them, it's phenomenal."
