Ricky Martin addresses nephew's 'hurtful' abuse allegations after case is dismissed

Ricky Martin has spoken out against his nephew’s “hurtful” abuse allegations after the case was dismissed on Thursday 21 July. Earlier this month, the 50 year old’s nephew Dennis Yadiel Sanchez, 21, accused the singer of incest and alleged they’d been in a sexual relationship together for seven months.
Ricky was hit with a restraining order by Dennis, the son of his sister Vanessa Martin. Dennis also alleged that he’d been subjected to abuse and stalking by the Latin star — which he vehemently denied.
The case has since been dismissed, with Ricky’s lawyers stating that it was the accuser’s decision to dismiss the matter and “his alone.” Ricky has addressed the "untrue" allegations in a video obtained by TMZ. He told fans he “couldn’t defend myself because there was a legal process I had to follow” until the case was presented in court but “today was the day” he would speak out.
Ricky continued: “It’s been almost four decades since I’ve been working as an artist, under the public eye, and I’ve never had to deal with something so hurtful like I’ve lived through these last few weeks. “Unfortunately, the attack came from a family member…I only wish him the best, for him to find the light.

It harmed me, my husband, my kids, my parents, my family.” Ricky added that he was “hurt” as he finished the two-minute video by stating: “I will find peace, the necessary silence to see the light again at the end of the tunnel, like I’ve always been able to."
