Paul Haggis Rape Accuser Wants to Raise Italy Case at New York Trial

Gene Maddaus Senior Media Writer Director Paul Haggis is scheduled to face a civil trial in New York next month on an accusation that he raped publicist Haleigh Breest after a film premiere in 2013. The trial will come nearly five years after the suit was filed, and just a couple of months after an Italian court dismissed a similar accusation against the director. Breest’s lawyers are now seeking information about the Italian case, which they may seek to introduce at the New York trial. In a motion filed on Tuesday, they asked Judge Sabrina Kraus to order Haggis’ lawyers to turn over records related to the case.

Chris Rock: Will Smith Slapped Me Over the ‘Nicest Joke I Ever Told’

Zack Sharf Chris Rock and Dave Chappelle recently kicked off their joint comedy tour in Liverpool, England at the M&S Bank Arena, and the two comedians held nothing back while addressing the 2022 Oscars incident where Will Smith slapped Rock across the face. Rock was presenting an award and made a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith’s bald head, angering Will Smith since Pinkett Smith has alopecia. Rock said during his Liverpool set that he got slapped for “a bullshit joke” (via Daily Mail UK). “Did that shit hurt? God damn right,” Rock said. “The motherfucker hit me over a bullshit joke, the nicest joke I ever told.” The joke Rock told during the Oscars was the following: “Jada, can’t wait for G.I. Jane 2.” The comedian was referencing Dami Moore’s shaved head in the original “G.I. Jane” movie.

Producers Randy Barbato And Fenton Bailey On The Rise And Rise Of ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’: “It’s About Love And Self-Expression And Openness”

“You always hope every show you do is a massive revolutionary force that changes people’s lives,” says RuPaul’s Drag Race producer Fenton Bailey, “but so rarely is that the case.” But by any metric, World of Wonder’s long-running reality show — in which ever more outrageous drag queens compete for the approval of its imperious host RuPaul — is exactly that show. Across all of its TV and digital properties, the franchise received 11 Emmy nominations this year, and if the main Drag Race competition show wins six, it will make it the fifth most Emmy-winning TV show in history. And that’s not all: After spawning 14 U.S. seasons since it first appeared in 2009, the show’s format has been exported to the UK, Canada, France, Italy, Spain, Holland, Thailand and the Philippines, with Belgium and Sweden to follow next year.
