A restaurant that closed for two years because of the Covid-19 pandemic has officially reopened its doors today at Manchester Airport. Trattoria Milano, an Italian eatery in Terminal 3 of the airport has sat empty since the country was first plunged into lockdown and international travel ground to a halt.
Now, more than two years on, the restaurant is back up and running on Tuesday (July 5). It comes following months of chaos at the airport, which also saw travellers forced to wait in often long queues to buy food and drink. Some disgruntled travellers reported there was a shortage of food available to buy at the airport back in May.
The Manchester Evening News understands Trattoria Milano was among those that closed its doors when the airport was mainly operating from just the one terminal in the pandemic. Terminal Three only reopened its doors in April, with many of the closed restaurants and shops now gradually reopening as passenger numbers increase, it is understood.

It is thought Kiosco also reopened its doors in the terminal a couple of weeks ago, as well as Pizza Luxe in Terminal One. Trattoria Milano is one of seven eateries in Terminal Three - beside the likes of KFC, The Lion and Antelope, Cafe Nero and Costa Coffee. It serves a range of italian dishes as well as desserts, coffees and breakfast options. The Manchester Evening News has contacted global restauranteur HMS Host for comment.
