Netflix will not renew its comedy series Blockbuster for a second season after a poor initial viewing hour performance.According to Deadline, Netflix rates its shows by the number of hours watched, and after the show launched on November 3, executives were less than impressed.This is not surprising, considering it is a comedy, with episodes running about half the length of a standard drama series.The series followed star Randall Park as he managed the (fictional) final Blockbuster Video rental store in the US.   Canceled: Netflix will not renew Blockbuster for a second season; still from BlockbusterThe irony in the series is that Netflix was originally a much smaller video rental service compared to Blockbuster when it opened its doors.However, Netflix eventually gained a significant video market share and forced Blockbuster out of business.
