Edinburgh-based Advance Global Recruitment was slammed after advertising for roles as the news of Monday’s violence on the Seafox Burj rig was breaking in Scotland.
The company came in for heavy criticism over the adverts, with many people mistakenly believing the jobs being advertised were those of the workers involved in the incident.
Bosses pulled the ad for POV Pilot Techs “to avoid any confusion” and “as a mark of respect for the affected families”.
Robert Robson, of Tyne and Wear, was allegedly bludgeoned to death, and Christopher Begley, of Coatbridge, Lanarkshire, was allegedly attacked in the early hours of Monday and is now recovering at home.
Scott Forrest, 43, from Aberdeen, was arrested in Qatar in connection with the alleged attacks.
The men are employed by Ellon-based Film-Ocean Ltd, which provides services to the Qatar-based North Oil Company.
