Ray Liotta: Martin Scorsese and Robert De Niro mourn the loss of the Hollywood star

Film fans might have already forgotten, but almost 25 years ago, Martin Scorsese was looking at Tom Hanks to star as Dean Martin in a biopic about the iconic performer. The film was said to be written by Paul Schrader and would pull back the curtain on Martin’s time in the Rat Pack and, of course, in his comedic duo with Jerry Lewis.

The trailer for one of Ray Liotta's final projects has been released. Before his death, Liotta completed the Apple TV+ series "Black Bird." The actor filmed six episodes as the character Big Jim Keene. Other projects Liotta had worked on before his sudden death include "Dangerous Waters" and "Cocaine Bear." The "Goodfellas" star had recently made an acting comeback with his role in the Apple TV+ series "Black Bird" along with "The Many Saints of Newark." A preview of one of Ray Liotta's last projects was released Tuesday.

It premiers on July 8. Liotta plays Big Jim Keene, Jimmy's father.

Behind the camera, Liotta was a doting dad to daughter Karsen, 23, whom he shared with ex-wife, Michelle Grace.  At the time of his death, Liotta was engaged to Jacy Nittolo.
