Ranvir Singh praises Liam Payne for his thoughts on Will Smith hitting Chris Rock

Good Morning Britain presenter Ranvir Singh has praised One Direction star Liam Payne for his response to Will Smith hitting Chris Rock at the Oscars 2022. Ranvir, 44, was airing her concerns about the on-screen altercation from the Academy Awards, raising that she was worried about the impact it could have on young boys in the future.
However, when the ITV morning show showed a short interview with Liam, 28, declaring that it should "never have happened", mum of one Ranvir praised the singer. The former Strictly Come Dancing star began: “I thought what Liam Payne said was really interesting.
He’s a young lad who cries when Will Smith cries, laughs when Will laughs, he’s watched every film.” Ranvir continued: “There are boys who watch that sort of thing and I think it’s really interesting. Ranvir added that she would be speaking to her nine year old son Tushaan, who is a fan of MMA Fighting, about the situation, explaining: “I would say, 'Listen you’ve got to control your emotions, if somebody makes a joke you’ve got to walk away, or you go and tell someone'.” The ITV presenter admitted it was “kind of crazy” that young boys may now think that if someone makes a cruel joke, the response would be to “throw the first punch”.
