Rampaging lone dolphin keeps biting swimmers in string of violent attacks

The dolphin also bit swimmers when they tried to pose for a picture with it and a girl was left with a bleeding wound after the irritable animal gnawed on her ankle.

Further attacks have been reported at nearby beaches with another video showing a man being chased by a group of swimming dolphins as concerned tourists watch on from the shore.Police, meanwhile, have warned members of the public not to swim near dolphins if they spot them in the sea, with signs erected urging people to exercise caution and not to touch the animals, who have been know to swim in water as shallow as knee-deep.To stay up to date with all the latest news, make sure you sign up to one of our newsletters here.Ultrasonic transmitters have also been installed along the beach in an attempt to deter the dolphins from the area.It is not known what species of dolphin has been responsible for the six attacks but bottlenose, striped and Risso's dolphins are the most common to be found in Japanese waters.
