The Libertines have announced the launch of a special podcast to celebrate 20 years of their debut album ‘Up The Bracket’.Titled ‘Up The Bracket: 20 Years of The Libertines’, the podcast will be made up of seven episodes featuring exclusive interviews with band members Carl Barât, Pete Doherty, John Hassall and Gary Powell, as well as the A&R who discovered them, James Endeacott, and their biographer, Anthony Thornton.The series will be hosted by Radio X’s Sunta Templeton and will provide listeners with insight into The Libertines’ journey, exploring the highs and lows and the moment they felt like they ‘made it’ told by the band themselves.Our podcast with @thelibertines, 20 Years Of Up The Bracket is out on Friday, and we want to know what your favourite Up The Bracket track is? Todd Spangler NY Digital Editor Netflix this week is opening the doors on a new retail destination for Angelenos to drop cash on merchandise based on the streamer’s hit shows — as well as get a full-frontal look at “Stranger Things 4” super-baddie Vecna and other characters. The Netflix pop-up shop at The Grove shopping complex in Los Angeles is set to open on Thursday, Oct. 13. Within the 10,000-square-foot space, Netflix’s original entertainment franchises will “come to life through colorful, photo-ready vignettes,” the company said, featuring life-size versions of characters and artifacts including Vecna; the terrifying Young-Hee robotic doll from “Squid Game”; and Queen Charlotte’s throne from the “Bridgerton” prequel.

Queens of the Stone Age look set to release new music after Eagles of Death Metal frontman Jesse Hughes seemingly confirmed the band have recorded their next album.

Queens Of The Stone Age album has seemingly been confirmed by Eagles Of Death Metal’s Jesse Hughes.Eagles Of Death Metal were founded by Hughes and Queens Of The Stone Age mastermind Josh Homme, with the pair writing and recording all four of EoDM’s studio albums together.In a recent Instagram livestream, Hughes is asked “what have you guys been up to?” before the vocalist replies: “Recording”.Hughes goes on to say Eagles are “recording a new record. Queens just did one, now we’re doing ours now.” The footage can be seen on Reddit.

It’s a film set 45,000 years ago, but its message about humanity — told through a genre lens — is as dark as it is timeless. Directed by Scottish helmer Andrew Cumming (“Radiance,” “Clique”) and written by Ruth Greenberg (“The Spark”) in both of their feature debuts, the film — produced by “Saint Maud’s” Oliver Kassman — is launching at the BFI London Film Festival on Thursday with three sold-out screenings. Shot on location in 2020 in the Scottish Highlands, the story follows a group of early humans looking for food and shelter in a new land. They subscribe to their leader’s promise of a better life, but find themselves in a dangerous terrain, where they’re preyed upon by a supernatural force. The cast includes Safia Oakley-Green, Kit Young and Chuku Modu.

Friendly Fires have announced a one-off show in London to mark the fifteenth anniversary of their eponymous debut album in February next year.“Time is a flat circle, much like a CD or a record, and one such flat circle that completely reconfigured our lives will be turning fifteen next year”, say the band. “‘Friendly Fires’ only peaked at a modest number 38 in the album chart, but momentum grew via the word of mouth of our small crew of proactive fans, and eventually we had a hit on our hands”.“So next year, we’re going to be getting out there and doing a special show to celebrate this, both for us and for the fans who made it a success”, they go on.

Placebo have released a limited edition vinyl featuring covers of Tears For Fears‘ ‘Shout’ and Kate Bush‘s ‘Running Up That Hill’.Earlier this month the UK rockers released a cover of Tears For Fears’ 1985 chart-topping single, while Bush’s ‘Running Up That Hill’, which they covered in 2003, has recently seen a huge chart resurgence after being used in Stranger Things.Now, the band have teamed up with British artist Stuart Semple for a limited edition packaged, double A-side 7 inch vinyl featuring both tracks, designed with a brand new colour.According a press release, “Placebo paint” is inspired by Semple’s “lifelong love of Placebo”.“Changing colour in front of your eyes in different lights, PLACEBO morphs from a deep purple hue, through black, into a shimmering blue,” a press statement reads.Semple as also created an original acrylic and charcoal on a canvas painting using the shade, titled ‘SHOUT’, and forms the cover artwork for the limited edition record.Speaking about the design, Semple said: “Placebo has always conjured colours in my mind. I’ve been painting along to their records since I was a teenager and that bruise blue-black is something that I feel encompasses the feeling and emotion behind the music.“When we get our emotions out on the surface and express ourselves, it can look dark and painful, but there’s always a beauty in it,” he added.“I’ve always loved Placebo’s covers, they always seem to hone in on such important songs for the times we are in.
