Prince Harry and Meghan Markle 's wedding was "very difficult" for the Queen who was "upset" by her grandson's behaviour, a distant relative of the late monarch has alleged.
A new book by royal reporter Katie Nicholl claims Her Majesty felt "dismayed" by Harry's attitude. Details behind the wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been in contention even before the nuptials happened.
In the Oprah interview last year, Meghan said tabloid claims "made Kate cry" had the story backwards. There was also reportedly a row about what tiara Meghan would borrow - a dispute which the book rehashes with new claims.
In 'The New Royals: Queen Elizabeth's Legacy and the Future of the Crown', Nicholl alleges that Harry told his grandmother's long-time dresser: "What Meghan wants, Meghan gets!"
This then reportedly prompted a telling-off from his grandmother.
The book goes on to quote Lady Elizabeth Anson, the late Queen's first cousin once removed.
Lady Anson, who died in 2020, is quoted as saying: "The run-up to the wedding was really very difficult for the Queen. She was very upset by how Harry had behaved and some of his demands and the way he went about things in his own way.
"For example, he asked the archbishop of Canterbury to marry them before consulting the Queen and the Dean of Windsor, which wasn't the correct way to do things.
"I think she was dismayed by his attitude in general and I remember her speaking to him and her being rather upset by how beastly Harry was being. Their relationship was quite badly damaged by it all."

Catching members of the royal family having fun at a non-royal or charity-related event seems surreal to me somehow (like can you imagine Kate Middleton at Coachella or King Charles at Six Flags?). published photos of the Sussexes taking in the mellow acoustic jams of Millennial Jimmy Buffet, Jack Johnson, at a packed concert on October 5.

passed away earlier this month at the age of 96 — reportedly shared her sorrow of the situation with a close friend, who in turn spoke with author Katie Nicholl for her new tome “The New Royals: Queen Elizabeth’s Legacy and the Future of the Crown,” released on Tuesday. The alleged close pal is not named in Nicholl’s book, but is quoted as saying: “She [the queen] was very hurt and told me, ‘I don’t know, I don’t care, and I don’t want to think about it anymore.'”An excerpt of “The New Royals” has been published by Vanity Fair, with Nicholl also writing that the aging monarch was “exhausted” by the “turmoil” of Harry and Meghan’s 2019 decision to leave the UK. The couple’s move — dubbed “Megxit” by the press — sparked a rift in the royal family, which was only exacerbated by their decision to trash the Firm in a sit-down interview with Oprah early last year.
are ready to get back home as soon as possible, apparently. Queen Elizabeth has been laid to rest at last, which means the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are officially free to leave the UK and return to California, which they plan to do “almost immediately,” according to unnamed source.“Meghan and Harry are preparing to return to Montecito almost immediately after the funeral, where they’ll be reunited with Archie and Lilibet after being separated for over two weeks,” the source said, which is “the longest amount of time they’ve been apart from their children.”I don't doubt that the Sussexes really are eager to get back home because they , who are still just toddlers after all.
Piers Morgan still can’t help but discuss Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, even while reporting live from Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral procession Monday. He said it particularly upset him that “the last two years of the Queen’s life were constantly having to deal with these two” after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex publicly stepped back from the royal family in January 2020, citing media harassment and racist tensions within the monarchy. “Of course they’re not a racist family, and I think that Meghan Markle, by saying that, endorsed by Harry, managed to smear the entire royal family,” Morgan said, reporting for Fox News.
Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral will take place on Monday 19 September in London before her body is later laid to rest in Windsor. The United Kingdom’s longest reigning monarch will have a state funeral on the day which was deemed a Bank Holiday by her son, King Charles III. Following the funeral, the Queen’s body will be taken to Windsor Castle for a committal service before she is laid to rest at St George’s Chapel.

A not-so-united front. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will not join the royal family to meet with world leaders ahead of Queen Elizabeth II‘s funeral on Sunday, September 18, after seemingly being uninvited.
The Prince Harry and Meghan Markle drama continued into the weekend as it wasn’t clear if the Sussexes would be attending a pre-funeral reception at Buckingham Palace on the eve of Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex – who settled in California after stepping down as senior royals in 2020 – reportedly initially received an invitation to the Sunday evening reception, but conflicting reports said they were and weren’t expected to attend. According to the Telegraph, they have now been uninvited because palace officials insisted that the reception hosted by King Charles III and Camilla, the queen consort, is only for working royals, which Harry and Meghan are not. Yahoo New UK reported, however, that despite the reception originally only being for working members of the royal family, an exception was made and the Sussexes are expected to attend. King Charles III has agreed to give Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's children the titles of prince and princess following his ascension to the British throne. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex's two children, Archie, 3, and Lilibet, 1, were not given prince and princess titles at birth due to the interpretation of the letters patent, a royal expert told Fox News Digital. The letters patent says grandchildren of the sovereign are entitled to the titles prince and princess. "So this was a big contention during the Oprah interview, because Meghan told Oprah Archie was entitled to be a prince and that the family had denied him. That was not right. That was incorrect," royal expert Shannon Felton Spenceexplained.
