Queen pays tribute to Prince Philip as she spends first Father's Day without him

The Queen was joined by a special guest as she began her annual tour of Scotland on Monday.

The Queen has led tributes to her grandson Prince William as he celebrates his 39th birthday. Her Majesty's official Twitter profile has shared a quartet of photos of the Duke of Cambridge, including some with his wife Kate Middleton.

Emotions ran high as Sophie, Countess of Wessex, tearfully expressed that Prince Philip's death has left a "giant-sized hole" within the royal family. Speaking to Naga Munchetty during an interview with BBC Radio 5, the 55 year old was unable to hold back her tears as she reflected on the loss of the 99 year old and the difficulty of grieving for him during the pandemic.

After commemorating the late Prince Philip's 100th birthday this week, Queen Elizabeth has reunited with her royal family members for the first time since her beloved husband's funeral on April 17 at St George's Chapel, Windsor Castle.

The Queen was in the company of the Duke Of Kent as she arrived for her first Trooping The Colour ceremony since the loss of her husband Prince Philip earlier this year. Her Majesty is celebrating her 95th birthday with a scaled-back version of the usual Trooping The Colour events in Windsor this year due to Covid-19 restrictions.The Queen sported a lilac ensemble adorned with gold detail for the military parade in Windsor ahead of a “memorable and uplifting” day for the monarch.

The royal family marks an important milestone today as late Prince Philip turns 100 today. The Duke of Edinburgh, who passed away in April 2021, would have turned 100 today.

The Queen marked what would have been her husband Prince Philip's 100th birthday on Thursday 10 June with a sweet moment at Windsor Castle. Prince Philip "peacefully" passed away at the age of 99 on 9 April at Windsor with his beloved wife by his side.
