Queen of Denmark tests positive for COVID after attending Queen Elizabeth's funeral

Less than one month after Princess Anne’s mother, Queen Elizabeth II, died, the Princess Royal traveled stateside.

King Charles III could streamline the royal family by removing Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's titles. It comes after Queen Margarethe of Denmark, who celebrated her Golden Jubilee this year, opted to strip the HRH titles from four of her grandchildren. Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams has said that although King Charles "has no reason" to follow the example set by the Scandinavian monarch it may seem "appropriate" when the country is facing difficult times.

Queen Margrethe of Denmark has tested positive for Covid-19 upon her return home from Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral on Monday. Margrethe travelled over to London for the historic state funeral, and in light of her positive test has cancelled all her upcoming activities for the rest of the week while she recovers. It’s believed that this is the second time this year the 82 year old royal has contracted the virus.

Lopes's husband, Harry Lopes, and their three children, Eliza, Gus, and Louis, were also in attendance. Though they are not considered official members of the royal family, both Tom and Laura have been spotted accompanying their mother at various formal events.

She arrived solo as her husband, Prince Harry, participated in the procession behind his grandmother's coffin from Westminster Hall to Westminster Abbey. Meghan wore a wide-brimmed black hat, black dress with an attached cape, black tights and heels.

Today is officially a bank holiday for the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II and multiple retailers announced they would be closing their doors as a mark of respect.
