Prue Leith's car breaks down as security pushes it down road at Queen's Jubilee Pageant

Television presenter Prue Leith hilariously brought the pageant at the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations to a halt when the car she was travelling in broke down.The Great British Bake Off star was being driven down the Mall in an open-topped vintage car as part of the procession, when the vehicle came to a sudden halt.The 82 year old baking icon joined over 200 of Great Britain’s favourites who paraded up to The Mall, including fellow Dames Joan Collins and Arlene Philips. However, the old black Jaguar she was travelling in unfortunately broke down as Prue was waving to the crowd, who gathered to catch a glimpse of some of the country’s national treasures.

Prue, who was made a Dame in 2010, laughed off the incident and began waving enthusiastically to the crowd as the vehicle continued making its way towards Buckingham Palace. She did not seem angry at the unfortunate mishap, continuing to smile and enjoy the moment while wearing a pair of bright pink glasses and a pink and blue floral suit.
Clare Balding, who was covering the event on the BBC, said: “Prue Leith needing a push in her Jag! “See, this is part of a live pageant, these things happen.
