Princess Beatrice has described the close relationship she enjoys with her stepson in a rare public mention of the youngster. The 34-year-old royal, daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, became step-mum to Christopher Woolf when she married Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi in 2020.
The couple have kept the boy, known as Wolfie, out of the public spotlight as much as possible and it is highly unusual for Bea to talk about the seven year old - who is son of her millionaire husband and his ex, the architect Dara Huang. But during a speech at Oscar’s Book Prize - which hands out an award for the best picture book of the year for young children - Beatrice spoke about Wolfie’s love of reading, in doing so revealing the sweet bond they share.
The princess, who is Patron for Oscar’s Book Prize, said at its glitzy prize-giving ceremony: “The award holds a very special place in my heart. My stepson, who is now seven, and I eagerly look forward to receiving the books and going through them together.
“Growing up in a world surrounded by books, we can take for granted that not everyone is so lucky. We need to remember in a world of screens and AI, it is moments of community, including between parents and children that we need to keep alive.” She added: “I was reminded this weekend - it’s been a bit of a big weekend - about the importance of community.

Mike Tindall, Princess Anne's son-in-law, is speaking out about his seat at King Charles' coronation that took place on May 6. Mike, who is married to Charles' niece Zara Tindall, shared a recap on the historic ceremony on his "The Good, The Bad and The Rugby" podcast.
