Prince William and Kate Middleton have been pictured looking all smiles after arriving in Northern Ireland for a day-long visit to the region. As part of the surprise engagement, the Prince and Princess of Wales are visiting difference cross-community organisations that work to support people from all backgrounds, with their first visit being to a mental health charity in north Belfast.
On the first stop of their short trip, Prince William and Kate, both 40, visited the Public Initiative for Prevention of Suicide and Self Harm (PIPS) in Belfast where they showed their long-standing support for mental health and wellbeing. The Public Initiative for Prevention of Suicide and Self Harm charity was first founded in 2003 following the heartbreaking news that 14 young people in Belfast had died by suicide during a short period of time.
Since its creation, the charity has worked to deliver a range of counselling and bereavement support services to those in need and it currently helps train members of the public to spot those who may be vulnerable and to enable them to signpost individuals to appropriate support. As part of the royal engagement, Prince William and Kate met with those at the Public Initiative for Prevention of Suicide and Self Harm charity where they were greeted with a bouquet of flowers.
Throughout the visit, the couple are set to speak to staff and counsellors at the organisation about their work, as well as how the charity is working to overcome barriers that may prevent people from seeking support. For the occasion, which will see the couple visit other cross-community organisations, Kate looked stunning as she opted for a head-to-toe blue look, consisting of a baby blue pussybow blouse and matching
